More women get breast augmentation in their 30s than at any other age. If you’re older or younger, keep reading too. Many of these tips are applicable to all ages.

5 Things to Know About Breast Augmentation in Your 30’s

The 30s are a favorite time for breast augmentation, and for good reason. Many women are finally able to afford the breasts they’ve always wanted and are in a position to do something about it. They are getting established in their careers and know what they want, including bigger breasts. Here’s what you need to know about breast augmentation in your 30’s.

  • Don’t Let Babies Keep You from Your Dream Body- Many women assume they need to wait until they are finished having babies to consider breast augmentation. This isn’t true. You do need to wait until you are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding, but many women have breast augmentation in between pregnancies. You’ll likely be able to successfully breastfeed after breast augmentation. You don’t need to wait for your ideal breasts.
  • Do You Need a Lift?- Many women in their 30s are starting to see the effects of pregnancy and aging on their breasts. You may have a little sagging or you may have a lot. Breast implants increase the size of the breasts, but are not a remedy for sagging. If you have moderate or severe sagging, you may need a breast lift with your breast augmentation. These two procedures can be performed at the same time.
  • Pregnancy, Aging, and Breasts- Pregnancy takes its toll on the breasts, permanently changing their shape and size. If you have breast augmentation in your 30s, and later have a pregnancy, you may experience some changes to your breast shape. Many women opt for a follow-up surgery to correct sagging as part of their mommy makeover, once they are finished having children.
  • Size Matters- What size do you want your breasts to be? Before your consultation, spend some time considering your ideal breast size. Focus less on the numbers and more on the look you hope to achieve. We can help you figure out the right implant size for your goals and body.
  • Do You Need a Mammogram?- Some women in their late 30s may choose to have a mammogram before surgery. This can give you a good baseline of your breast appearance and helps to spot potential problems before surgery. Most women won’t need a mammogram, but if you’re concerned or have questions, let us know.
