Tighter Skin Without Surgery in Chicago, IL – FaceTite
Aging facial skin is a common complaint from both men and women. For years, a surgical facelift was the only effective solution to this problem. However, changes in technology have allowed patients to achieve youthful, firm skin without treatments needing larger incisions. MAE Plastic Surgery offers skin tightening treatment that meets our exacting standards for safety and effectiveness with FaceTite (or EmbraceRF) in Chicago, IL. Call us today and learn more about this innovative solution to cosmetic facial aging.
What Is FaceTite?
FaceTite addresses shifting fat deposits, loosening skin (which causes jowls), double chins, and a loss of facial contours in a different and less invasive manner than the facelift. A facelift resolves these issues by removing fat and excess skin, but FaceTite uses radio-frequency energy to shrink fat and tighten the skin. When combined with Morpheus8, a device utilizing microneedling and radiofrequency heat, providers may call this treatment “EmbraceRF”.
The technology behind FaceTite is known as RFAL or radio-frequency assisted lipolysis. Radio-frequency waves are used to create thermal, or heat, energy. This coagulates and liquefies fat cells and encourages the body to produce additional collagen. These processes lead to tissue remodeling that continues for months after the initial treatment. FaceTite primarily treats the face, chin, and neck areas (and is great for that stubborn loose knee skin, and that area in front of your armpits that sticks out from a bra!). For patients seeking less invasive body contouring for drooping skin around the midsection or lower body, we also offer BodyTite.
FaceTite vs. Surgical Alternatives
FaceTite is less invasive than its surgical alternatives, the facelift, and facial liposuction. It offers several unique benefits over these invasive surgical treatments.
- Facelift – A facelift will create the most dramatic, longest lasting results, but FaceTite results give the surgical facelift a run for its money. Patients experience results that may be comparable, and downtime is significantly less. FaceTite requires local anesthesia, not general anesthesia like many facelifts. This innovative approach allows our surgeons to create tiny incisions, much smaller than the incisions required for a full facelift.
- Liposuction – Liposuction is a top-notch treatment for removing fat, but it does not tighten or contract skin. For patients with skin laxity, RF skin tightening is a better fit than liposuction alone. In addition to fat coagulation, FaceTite improves skin tone and firmness for a toned, youthful facial appearance.

What to Expect from FaceTite Treatment in Chicago, IL
If you’re ready to learn more about this innovative skin firming procedure, call MAE Plastic Surgery to schedule an introductory consultation. Before your procedure, we’ll meet with you and discuss the procedure in more detail. We want to make sure that RF skin tightening is a good fit and that you’ll be delighted by your results. If FaceTite isn’t your best option, our skilled plastic surgeon, Dr. Epstein, can recommend a treatment that is in line with your aesthetic goals.
FaceTite uses a specially designed cannula outfitted with an RF electrode. This is inserted into the treatment area through a very small incision. Another electrode is placed on the outside of the skin, directly over the cannula. The external and internal electrodes create a precise and targeted treatment zone as radiofrequency waves pass from one electrode to the other. RF waves pass through the fatty tissue, coagulating fat and stimulating collagen production. General anesthesia is not needed; we use a local anesthetic, sometimes paired with conscious sedation, for this treatment.
RF tissue firming treats small areas, such as under the chin (double chin), jowls, and lower face sagging. After FaceTite, patients return home almost immediately to recover. Ask a friend or family member to drive you home. Downtime is minimal; many patients return to desk jobs in a day or two.
Before bringing FaceTite, or any new treatment, to MAE Plastic Surgery, Dr. Michael Epstein carefully evaluates the procedure to ensure that it meets our stringent safety standards. Patient safety is our top priority.
We love FaceTite’s built-in safety protections. Real-time measurements of skin and tissue temperature are taken throughout treatment. This keeps treated areas in a controlled therapeutic temperature range, without overheating damaging delicate skin. Other safety controls include impedance monitoring, power cut-off, and audible feedback.
