Types of Body Waxing
Those who are plagued with unwanted hair on any part of their body may want to consider waxing.
Two basic types of waxing are used to remove unwanted hair from the body. The most common type is strip waxing, in which a thin layer of wax is applied to the desired area. Cloth strips are then pressed over the top of this wax and then ripped off using firm quick motions. This results in the removal of hair by the root.
Hot waxing is often preferred by those who have extremely sensitive skin. Wax is applied to the skin and then allowed to harden before being lifted off. While some discomfort can be felt, it is normally much less than when hairs are pulled out quickly.
Waxing can be performed on nearly any area of the body. For a more permanent solution, patients can consider laser hair removal.
