Those who are plagued with unwanted hair on any part of their body may want to consider waxing.
Types of Waxing
Two basic types of waxing are used to remove unwanted hair from the body. The most common type is strip waxing, in which a thin layer of wax is applied to the desired area. Cloth strips are then pressed over the top of this wax and then ripped off using firm quick motions. This results in the removal of hair by the root.
Hot waxing is often preferred by those who have extremely sensitive skin. Wax is applied to the skin and then allowed to harden before being lifted off. While some discomfort can be felt, it is normally much less than when hairs are pulled out quickly.
Areas that can be treated
Waxing can be performed on nearly any area of the body, and some of the most common ones include:
- Bikini area
After waxing is performed, hair will not grow back for two to six weeks; however, some stubble may be present sooner. At that time, it might be necessary to have this treatment performed again.
