What Is Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?
What is non-surgical rhinoplasty? Many of our patients don’t realize that there are minimally invasive options for improving the look and function of the nose. In non-surgical rhinoplasty, we use soft tissue fillers to add volume to the nose and to change its shape. In a similar, but less common procedure, we can also use fillers to correct some functional anatomical issues, improving the airway. Oral medications can be used to improve breathing through the nose. Some of these treatments can have long-lasting effects, but they aren’t always the right option for every patient or every nasal problem.
Surgical vs. Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty
Surgical rhinoplasty permanently alters the appearance and/or function of the nose. Surgical rhinoplasty provides the most versatility, allowing us to address most nasal concerns including:
- Increase/decrease the size of the nose
- Correct structural abnormalities like deviated septum, nasal turbinates, etc.
- Reshape the nostrils
- Modify the nasal tip
- Improve the bridge
Non-surgical rhinoplasty uses soft tissue fillers to modify the nose, the same fillers we use to smooth out lines and wrinkles on the face. These fillers only add volume and cannot reduce the size of the nose. They work best for filling in depressions, adding volume and correcting some functional abnormalities. It is ideal for patients that want to avoid surgery.
