Plastic Surgery Revisions – Who Pays?

It is the hope and plan of all plastic surgeons that their patients are happy and satisfied with their initial surgical results. With that being said, unfortunately, there are no guarantees that this will happen, and there are times when patients will need surgical revisions to achieve the desired outcome. While we wish it were possible, plastic surgeons cannot control how well a patient’s body will heal. Nor can they control whether or not the patient adheres to the post-operative instructions provided, or if he or she is recovering in a suitable environment.  If revisions are needed, and depending on the reason for the revisions, it is the doctor’s prerogative to determine if he or she will charge a fee for the additional work. In most cases, patients should expect to be charged a facility fee and a fee for the anesthesia (if necessary).
